Dina and Oliver, co-founder of 「DOSHA woodcraft」, decided to give abandoned wood a second life by turning them into tailor-made woodwork and furntire.
According to the 2018 "Hong Kong Solid Waste Monitoring Report", an average of 452 tonnes of wood or rattan materials are disposed of in Hong Kong every day. How should we "reduce the weight" of landfills? With the slogan "Don't waste, upcycle", some young people use locally recycled waste wood, add solar energy movement and bamboon surface, and design a wooden watch that is environmentally friendly, practical and beautiful.
Sawdust was flying, and the small window in the room was opened, and the sunlight fell on the half-finished wooden platform. The wooden table in front of me is made of discarded wooden pallets. The table has not been polished, and the legs are of different lengths, that makes it rickety. Although it is flawed, it is full of human touch. The tailor-made wooden platform for the corner store not only upcycled the waste, but also used woodworking to connect the community and influence more people to change their original living habits.
