Our last school workshop of 2023 was hosted at Queen's College back in October. Students use their unlimited creativity and imagination, transform recycled wood strips into different items, such as book reading rack, mobile phone holder, pen holder, etc. Several very creative works have been selected to be displayed in the annual exhibition.
Our seminar and sharing session were successfully held on 15 November 2023. Thank you to all the guest speakers for sharing with us the concepts of tree upcycling and sustainable community development, I believe that all participants will have a better understanding of local trees and upcycling. The fifth tour of "Tree Tour Hong Kong" Fu Tei Au Village Guided Tour was successfully completed. Our professional docent crew lead tour member deep into Fu Tei Au Village, learn about local tree species and their ecology, many of them praised the rich plant and ecological resources, plus profound historical heritage in Fu Tei Au Village, some even complained that the 2-hour guided tour was really not long enough.
The fourth group of "Tree Tour of Hong Kong" green guided tour of Fu Tei Au Village was successfully completed. Vega, lecturer of Higher Diploma in Landscape Architecture from Hong Kong Design Institute HKDI, Fu Tei Au villagers, and plant expert served as tour guides, lead participants to futher understand local tree species and ecology. This time, we have a good luck encountering the blooming water hyacinths, forming a sea of lavender-colored flowers, it was so beautiful that everyone can’t help but check in on social media like crazy!
Students from Wood Workshop for Youth Class B & E made cross-tenon small wooden stool, wooden storage box and red wine box wooden toilet paper box, specifically for the families served by Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service HKLSS. Donation was made in late September.
