The 24/9 recycled wooden pull-back boat workshop has been successfully completed. Thank you Norman for teaching children to use recycled wood to create a unique and highly personal pull-back boat in the world. Children were super excited when testing their boat in the water! Norman also shared many environmentally friendly gadgets he designed himself, including recycled wooden bows and arrows, ice stick pistols, and table tennis rackets made from red wine wooden boxes. In spite of a great parent-child activity, children have learned how to integrate environmental protection and upcycling into their lives. It’s really meaningful!
The treasure chests specially made by students from Class A & D for the grassroots families and school children of the Hong Kong Christian Service have been completed. Donation was made in mid-September, school children were very happy to receive it.
Dave Ho from Chipgoodguy Studio will be in charge of Class F, everyone listened carefully in the first class, they also experience marking lines with a wood saw for the first time. Everyone is so focused and we really look forward to the Luban locks, tissue boxes, mobile phone holders and storage stools they will make in the future.
Mr. Lee, instructor of the Faculty of Craft, will deliver this class from easy to deep, students will learn different techniques of carpentry, and handmade all-tenon wood stools, storage boxes, toilet paper boxes and treasure chests. All finished wood products will be donated to those in need! In the first class, students were already listening attentively to Sir Li’s explanation of the basic concepts of woodworking. We really looking forward to seeing the students’ works!
Tony from Chipgoodguy Studio will teach students a comprehensive range of different woodworking skills, including planing, chiseling, sawing, hammering, drilling, marking, etc. Students will also use the skills they learned to make paper airplane launchers and tissue boxes, which will be donated to social welfare organizations to help those in need!
