Thank you Commerical Radio for the invitation to "The Way We Are"! Rachel (Assistant Project Officer, Tree Upcycling Project) and Norman (tutor of Taster Workshop) shared with us how to make environmentally friendly Christmas gifts by using recycled wood and creativity.
Students from CCC Kei Tsun Primary School created these splendid Christmas decoration with materials from our “Wish ‧ Wood” Kit.
Earlier this month, a school workshop was conducted at SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School. Under the guidance of HKDI senior lecturer and Maurice (Product designer of InnoSphere), students creatively transformed recycled wood into beautiful items such as rubber band gun, basketball hoops, photo frames and calculator stand.
Students from Advanced Wood Workshop for Youth handcrafted wooden lamps, benches, pill boxes and cabinets for those in need, and all woodworks have been donated to local NGOs. In addition, tailor-made cabinets and shoe racks were delivered to A Classroom Without Age (an intergenerational learning platform of Woopie Club) as graduation project.
Our representative presented wooden bench and toolbox from Introductory Wood Workshop to The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong and Methodist Epwoth Village Community Centre.
