Many thanks to all secondary and primary schools for their participation, all "Wish Wood" Wood Kit materials have been given away! We are so happy to see our students showing off their endless creativity, upcycling recycled wood strips and DIY them into practical and beautiful items, giving recycled wood secondary value. 2024 Wish Wood Scheme has been successfully concluded, thanks again to all the primary and secondary schools for their support and participation over the past three years. We hope that all students participating in the "Wish Wood" project will understand and learn how to make good use of recycled materials and practice sustainable living.
This year’s first advanced wood art class, Class CA1, has finished. Thank you our tutor Dave Ho, one of the founders of Chipgoodguy Studio, who teaches students to make beautiful and practical wooden mobile phone stands and wooden storage stools from recycled red wine boxes. All woodworks will be donated to Caritas Jockey Club 'One More Lap' and HKFYG Jockey Club Cheung Wah Youth S.P.O.T.
Advanced Wood Upcycling Workshop Class WA1 has been completed in late July. Mr. Lee taught students how to use traditional mortise and tenon techniques and power tools to create a foldable wooden workbench and recycled wine box wooden toilet paper box for those in need. Every workbench and toilet paper box is built with love.
The upcycling wooden bow and arrow workshop on 3/8 has been successfully completed. Norman taught participants how to use the partition boards of recycled red wine wooden boxes, combined with ice cream sticks, clothespins and other recycled materials to create an environmentally friendly and fun bow and arrow. With coloring pens and other decorations, everyone is able to create bows and arrows with very personal characteristics.
The recycled wooden car workshop on 3rd August has been successfully completed. Under the careful guidance of Norman, children can, with the help of their parents, use recycled wood strips and recycled drink packaging to create a unique wooden car. Both parents and children are very happy, while having fun, they also learned environmental protection knowledge.
