Introductory Wood Workshop Class W2 is over! Students learn traditional mortise and tenon techniques from Mr. Lee, hand-made wooden stools and wooden storage boxes with fully-jointed tenons for those in need. Woodworks will be donated to Jockey Club Cheung Wah Youth S.P.O.T. , Ronald McDonald's House (Kwun Tong) and Caritas Jockey Club 'One More Lap'.
This year’s first basic wood art class, Class C1, has finished! Thanks to tutor Dave Ho Lok Chung, who taught students to make such interesting Luban locks and spinning tops. Woodworks will be donated to grassroots children served by Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service HKLSS.
The first group of this year's "Tree Tour of Hong Kong" has been successfully completed in mid-April! Our experienced docents lead the group to go deep into Fu Tei Au Village to explore the tree species and natural ecology in the village. Many participants said that they have benefited a lot from this trip, in addition to visiting the last remaining traditional village in Hong Kong and admiring the rare Sky Tree, you can also learn about different local tree species and deeply feel the villagers' enthusiasm for natural ecological conservation.
Recycling Wood Bow and Arrow Workshop on 9 March has been successfully completed! Norman teaches everyone to use the partition boards of recycled red wine wooden boxes, combined with recycled materials such as ice sticks and clothespins, to make an environmentally friendly and fun bow and arrow.
The recycling wooden Wind Powered Car workshop on 9 March has been successfully completed. With Norman's guidance, with the help of their parents, children are able to use recycled wood and recycled paper to create wind powered cars with unique characteristics. At the end of the workshop, children were divided into two groups for in a live racing competition with their hand-made wind powered cars.
