Our 1st school workshop was a great success! Instructor from HKDI explained to student how to creatively transform recycled wood into useful items, and they all appreciate the value of wood upcycling and creative design.
We are delighted to see more families joining our tour, an opportunity for children to experience the nature in our neighborhood. Our ecotour guide from IVE Health and Life Sciences(Sha Tin) Tree Management program have prepared a prized Tree Hunt game for the little ones, and they all enjoyed it! Enjoyed lunch at Lion House Club, where the owner shared with us traditional Lion Dance culture. The best way to ease off the heat is to enjoy a bowl of cold tofu at 豆美味豆花園. Our tour finishes off by visiting Chi Kee Sawmill & Timber, where we can learn more about the historic value of local wood processing industry.
Do you know this song? At the 2nd online class of our Introductory Wood Workshop for Youth, Dave Ho showed us how to build a manual music box. And you can even create your own score simply by punching holes on a piece of paper!
We had a great time last week at our 2nd "Tree Tour Hong Kong"! Participants highly praised our ecotour guide from IVE Shatin for being well prepared, which allows them to better understand native tree species. Had lunch at Lion House Club, where the owner shared with us the decoration of traditional Lion Dance. Visited Chi Kee Sawmill & Timber in the afternoon, despite the possibility of being demolished in the coming months, Chi Kee invites the general public to give wood a second chance by purchasing from them.
Instructor Dave Ho (Chipgodguy Studio) demonstrated the step-by-step procedure, from grinding to nailing, to making a gyro. All wood products will be donated to local NGOs.
