The students of Introductory Wood Workshop Class W2 have completed the wooden stools they made for the temporary sick children at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Kwun Tong home, donation was made at the beginning of July.
Introductory Wood Workshop Class W3 has finished at the end of July! Thank you Mr. Lee, the instructor of the Faculty of Craft, for being the instructor of our woodworking class. Mr. Lee never expected that so many female classmates would be interested in carpentry, students all expressed that the content of wood workshop is rich and practical, and discovered that learning carpentry is really about training concentration and patience. Meanwhile, everyone agrees that carpentry is really fun.
Students from the Wood Workshop Class W2 made wooden stools for the grassroots people served by Jockey Club Cheung Wah Youth S.P.O.T. were donated by our representatives in early July.
The wooden storage box made from recycled wine boxes specially made by the students of Wood Workshop Class W1 for the elderly served by the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service has been completed, and donation took place in late July by our planning colleagues and representatives from social welfare organizations. The elders all agreed with the students' workmanship, especially the mortise and tenon positions of the wooden box. Grandma Ah Zhen added: "It's so beautiful! I don't see such handicrafts at home, so I plan to put my jewelry in it."
Students of Wood Workshop Class W1 made practical wooden stool for the Ngau Tau Kok District Neighborhood Welfare Association, the mortise-and-tenon stools have been donated to their representatives and will be given to neighbors in need.
