Our first round Taster Workshops on 20 August has been successfully completed. Our tutor Norman teaches everyone to use recycled wood to create a unique and very personal pull-back boat, everyone got so excited when their boat passed the water test! Norman also shared other eco-friendly gadgets he designed, participants can also try out the Popsicle Stick Pistol on the spot, Recycled Wooden Bows and Arrows, Table tennis rackets made from red wine wooden boxes, etc. While everyone had fun, we all learned how to integrate environmental protection and upgrading into life.
Class A & D students made Treasure Chest for grassroots applying for Caritas Jockey Club 'One More Lap' program, and was donated by our representatives in early August, special thanks to the professional colleagues from Caritas Computer Workshop for helping with the delivery. At first glance, the treasure chest looks like an ordinary briefcase, in fact, there is a world inside! 1) There is a card slot design inside, which can be used to place laptops, tablets, mobile phones, books, stationery, etc. 2) The storage space is sufficient, and movable partitions are provided for more flexible storage 3) It is also a multi-purpose workbench, which can be transformed into a laptop computer desk, desk or dining table 4) It is equipped with a magnetic suction LED light, which can be charged with USB, and the light tone and brightness can be adjusted. Introductory Wood Workshop Class G students made a simple and practical wooden tissue box for the community families served by the Methodist Centre, and was presented by our colleagues back in July.
Paper airplanes are fun for all ages, it can also enhance parent-child relationship! But hand-folded paper airplanes can't fly far, that's why Wood Workshop Class G students made wooden paper airplane launchers for families served by Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service HKLSS, and was donated by our representatives back in July.
Ying Wa Primary School joined our "Wish . Wood" Scheme back in June, teacher distribute the "Wish·Wood" Wood Kit to Primary 1 and 2 students to DIY their woodworks during Visual Art class. Students are full of creativity, turning recycled wooden strips into various items, such as mobile phone holders, model stools, decorations, etc.
