Jockey Club "Tree Upcycling" Youth Co-Creation Project Wood Granting Ceremony 2024 has been successfully completed on 30 October. Every year, all woodworks created by students from our Upcycling Wood Workshop will be donated to people at grassroots level through varies NGO. As of today, a total of 15 NGOs and over 900 grassroots citizens were benefit. We were very happy to invite one of the beneficiary organizations - Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service to share their thoughts on the donation of woodworks, and together with our officiating guests Mr. Daniel Chan (Head of DESIS Lab and Department of Architecture, Interior and Product Design, Hong Kong Design Institute) to conduct a simple yet grand wooden work donation ceremony.
This guided tour is fortunate to have the support and assistance of Edmond Wong, Senior Park Manager of Ma Wan Park, who collaborated with George Jor (Professor of CUHK), Vega Shang (Lecturer of Higher Diploma in Landscape Architecture, Hong Kong Design Institute), Alvina Chan (Plant Expert) serves as tour guide, take participants to explore Ma Wan Nature Park, explore the different tree species and natural ecology, they also visited the organic farm and edible mushroom cultivation room in the park.
